From Lisbon: Take the A1 highway north, exit at Torres Novas (A23). Follow the A23 and, past the city of Castelo Branco, take the Covilhã South exit. Drive to the centre of town and look for the route to Serra da Estrela. (Travelling time: +/- 2 and a half hours)
